Established in 1989

Drawing on his craftsmanship as a tailor, John Talmage was inspired to offer original and distinctive Italian, hand-cut attire and accessories to men who enjoy sophistication and style.

John personally pursued European suppliers who could provide the finest quality fabrics for Taggs’s tailored garments. His absolute belief in uncompromised quality led him to partner with Italian family businesses whose passion and dedication to the craft of fine tailoring matched his own inherent pursuit of excellence.

Continuing the legacy

Today, 30 years later, John’s son, Jonathan, continues the legacy left by his father. As a second generation family owned and run business, Taggs prioritises integrity and service above all else.

In recent years Taggs has expanded its range to meet the needs of discerning, modern gentlemen by offering a wide range of garments and accessories. While Taggs continues to focus on classic lines and elegance, the style of garments follow current European trends. Jonathan personally visits Italy and Europe every year to ensure Taggs fabrics and patterns are aligned with those on the runways of Milan, London and Paris.

Jonathan insists on his personal involvement in the management of the business and is always available on the shop floor. Thus, his father’s passion for quality and service continue as the pillars of the Taggs ethos and culture, for which he has become well-known.
